Sure it is. My fiance lives in a dorm and he's always visiting friends and having people over. A lot of times they'll all go to the communal kitchen and hang out there.

Definitely, it's OK. Are you a hermit that you would not wish to
socialise. The dormitory is a living quarter that enhance communal interaction and social interaction. The sounds of
chatter is often heard till the dawn of lights.

Very normal. Most people on my floor would leave their doors open so people wandering up and down the hallway could pop in and say 'hi' or whatever. Having friends and neighbours pop in was a wonderful excuse to take a break from studying.

Really, really normal. When I lived in dorms it was a weird thing not to get several visitors a week - or several a day, at times.

Of course, its just like your own smaller houses. If it was down a steet you wouldnt have to ask. However some people like their own space and may not like visitors, so if you get a vibe that your not welcome, take a hint and dont visit too often ok.

It was totally normal when I was in college. We'd even leave our doors open so if someone walked by they knew they could stop by to talk. (But if the door was closed, that meant busy or sleeping.) It was a great way to make friends.
