I've heard of nose bleeds for a number of reasons some of which have been mentioned here. (dry air, allergies, picking noses)

To stop the nose bleeds - pinching helps as well as ice. If you place ice in a towel on the nose it will constrict the blood vessels.

I would call his pediatrician as well just to rule out a more serious condition.

Bright Blessings!

My son who is 7 does this and it started around age 6. The nurse where I worked suggested, that I put a little vasline with a cutip in his nostrils, because it's dry which his causing it to bleed. He doesn't have it as much now.

i used to get a lot of bloody noses because of allergies. If it was too dry (my nose) or if i sneezed too much i would break blood vessels in my nose. I had to go to the doctor and they carterized the blood vessels ( i dont think i spelt that right). maybe thats the issue?
