Right now with the Republican Bush Administration, they only use their Capitalist Religion to the best of their convenience. Using the Bible out of context to promote your agendas is really Un- Constitutional, since the Constitution and Bill of Rights in America recognizes all Religions with freedom of Religion as a Civil right. This is the reason that there is a separation of Church and State, but the Bush Administration is in violation of this civil right, and is currently violating the US Constitution. We want to impeach him over here with his insidious policies and practices.

No, but defenders of the First Amendment agree that they SHOULD be kept separate. Certainly issues arise in politics which get divided along religious lines, although fewer than you might suppose.
One of the problems with this discussion is the assumption most people make that there are only two political parties, basically lined up left and right. In fact, there are quite a few more. The biggest third party is the Libertarian Party, which is very staunch in defending the First Amendment and the entire Constitution.

Only the active political religious folk! Politics and religion are never separate because politics is, well, the political arm of religion aimed at promoting the agenda of the dominant religion of the country.

In America, they are treated the same, not kept separate at all!!
May be in some parts of the world, there is a distinction between the two, but not in USA. I've heard a myth, they told me President George Bush is a believer (born again christian). How true is that?

The completely bewildered material civilization is wrongly directed towards the fulfillment of desires in sense gratification. In such civilization, in all spheres of life, the ultimate end is sense gratification. In politics, social service, altruism, philanthropy and ultimately in religion or even in salvation, the very same tint of sense gratification is ever-increasingly predominant. In the political field the leaders of men fight with one another to fulfill their personal sense gratification. The voters adore the so-called leaders only when they promise sense gratification. As soon as the voters are dissatisfied in their own sense satisfaction, they dethrone the leaders, The leaders must always disappoint the voters by not satisfying their senses. The same is applicable in all other fields; no one is serious about the problems of life.
Because the scientific division of four varnas(social divition) and four äsramas(spiritual divitions) is now being extinguished, the entire world is being governed by unwanted men who have no training in religion, politics or social order, and it is in a very deplorable condition. In the institution of four varnas and four äsramas there are regular training principles for the different classes of men. And the king or president, must be the representative of God and is his responsability to curb irreligious tendencies, and educate the people systematically in the teaching of Srimad-Bhägavatam an Bhagavad gita, and that will clear up the unhappiness of the citizens and the hazy atmosphere of corruption, bribery, blackmail, wars, etc.

Unfortunately, its not kept separate especially in the Southern states where it is called the "Bible belt."
But, its the same everywhere! If you look at the middle east, Islam plays a big part. In Europe, religion plays a part too although at a diluted rate compared to 400 years ago but in Rome, the catholic religion plays a huge part due to the Vatican and the pope. So if your thinking of going anywhere in the world to escape religion and politics, it wont work because politics and religion go hand in hand anywhere and everywhere.

not with the current president they aren't! George Bush grew up with a very religious family, so he himself is highly religious. Also because America doesn't have its own Church (like the Church of England) there is no seperate political power within the country, as the state religion is not unique to America.

No , Politics and Religion can't be separated. They both live on each other's expense. May be , its the enormous clout of religion , which gets the politics into it.

No they aren't which is what has a great many upset. The two should be separate. I think any religion that dabbles in politics should lose it's non-profit status because it has now become a business.

Mia,
There is no way that a Politics and religion can be separate. We must have religious views in our political decicions or our religion does not exist. If we choose Politicians who have no religion then their ideology will never match ours. Have a wonderful LORD's DAY.
Thank you,
