mine are when they hug me and say they love me, or just sitting down together watching cartoons

I was a Long Term Single Mom ... and now .. an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree.
I would have to state that it was rewarding to guide them through their early years (despite having to go through a Short Disaster of marriage to the ex (their father) who was abusive, violent, and a True Sociopath) ... to see them LEARN and want to be in school.
The WORST and Least rewarding times was their Teenage years -- horrible when their hormones started raging and they started making "Wrong" choices in life.
It is REWARDING to close the pocketbook, REFUSE to "Enable" and to LET them FLY from the nest -- and LET them take full responsibility for the choices that they MAKE in LIFE -- consequences with benefits. CONSEQUENCES when they break the Law, and that is true too ...
So now .. after a Lifetime of Hard work .. I can FINALLY Sit down and know that I did my best (even though an Adult child did willingly help my ex Burglarize my home in August 2006) ... because I DID Show them through Actions and Words the 'CORRECT' and Moral way to live life -- one with dignity and respect for self and others ... but they CHOSE to NOT follow that path and instead follow the Ex's abominations ....
Just to enjoy PEACE and QUIET is all I can ask for ... and I am enjoying it at this time. I HAVE my life, I have endured, and I AM A survivor. EVENTUALLY They will REALIZE what they have done -- and that is all I can ask .......

The first time u hold them. I cried with both mine. That was the best feeling I have ever had, nothing will ever beat it. And of course when they first smile at u and cuddle u and say I love u mum..............

haha from memory was when they went to sleep of a night time haha I loved them to bits & still do they are grown up & beautiful & handsome & lovely people to boot
