Hi Lossa, first of all we can see how God`s plan was executed through Moses by careful reading of Exodus.
God in His infinite wisdom caused Moses to be adopted by Pharaohs Daughter so that he would be in a position to help the Hebrews, something that would have been impossible if Moses had been just another slave to the Egyptians.
Remember too that God operates in the natural order of humanity and although He could have freed the Hebrew slaves Himself with one simple word He chose to use Moses as His method of doing this.
In Genesis God states that He will in the course of time send His Messiah into the world to free it from the slavery of sin and we can see that Moses is a type of savior here but not the Messiah himself, and we also see that Eygpt is symbolic of human slavery and suffering, so God is in freeing the Hebrew people from the slavery of Eygpt pointing to the future freeing of humanity from sin, death and the devil.

I would suggest that you go back to the 'drawing board' completely, and do a whole bunch of research on who, exactly, this character might have been. And don't take any of the assumed 'truths'. Research who were the 'Hyksos', who ruled Egypt between the 17th and 15th centuries bc. Then try and tie that to the Biblical story from Abraham, who also 'went down into Egypt', Jacob, his younger son Joseph ( of the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat fame - another mistranslation, btw ), Jacob being re-named 'Israel', and the royal line of Pharoahs in the ancient tradition of Osiris ( God the Father ) and the Horus ( God the Son ).
If you can get to the bottom of this in even a fairly superficial way, you will be able to make a really interesting, and different, project. And hopefully learn some new perspectives on Israelite history.
A Clue :
It has been traditionally told that the Hebrews were 'enslaved' by the Egyptians, and particularly that they, the Hebrews, were used as slave labour in the building of then Pyramids. That is not so, there were no 'Jews'/'Hebrews'/'Israelites' during the period that the major pyramids were being built. If there was any 'enslaving' being done, it was more likely of the Egyptians by the proto-Hebrews, in the guise of the Hyksos, or 'Desert Princes'.
Frankly, if you want to do a genuine 'hero' of Judaism I would suggest King David or his son, Solomon. Much less ambivalence with those two.

Historically?
Check your Egyptian history. We know so much about Egypt and her history. They documented everything. We know of uprisings against their pharaohs, famines, etc.
There is nothing in there history that describes what is depicted in the bible. NOTHING. No slave uprising. No plagues. No deaths of first borns. None of these events happened.
so what is the significants of Moses' birth. We have no evidence that he even existed.

Come on... haven't you seen "The Prince of Egypt"? :)
Seriously now, well he was born with a purpose. That purpose was to be a leader and an example of the good in such corruption during those times.
