Easy way round this buy are pre-cooked chicken, frozen roast potatoes, frozen veg and yorkshire puds. Will be better then cheese on toast and no prep involved.

Instead of cheese on toast why not serve them a jacket potato with a filling and salad .Chocolate cake is yummy so I am sure that would go down well . Maybe offer some ice cream or cream with it .
Or for a really easy option order a take away.
Good luck with your meal . Cooking is not as hard as you think buy some cookery books for basic meals . You will be shocked how simple they are to cook .

Boil some spaghetti ,open a jar of spaghetti sauce.
place the spaghetti on a plate , put some sauce on top, add parmesan cheese on top of that and a sprig of parsley on the side for looks.
Serve your salad, and add some garlic powder to your toast and cheese but melt the cheese.
Serve ice cream with your chocolate cake and Voila a meal fit for company.
You could serve red wine. Remember PRESENTATION is everything

Have a look at some recipes on the net,you can cook some really simple dishes that even a child could make.
It would be good for yourself to learn how to cook too.
Failing that I would order a takeout and explain the situation to them,Im sure they wont mind.
I definately wouldn't give them cheese on toast though.

I just made Taco Salad from foodnetwork.com by Paula Deen. It was so easy. I added Taco seasoning to the ground beef, I used canned Rotel tomatoes with peppers instead of cutting my own and used a bag of lettuce which made it even easier. It was really good and fed at least 6 people.
In the freezer section Stoffer's makes some good things. I have had the meatloaf & green pepers. Both were good. They also have a meal with noodles, white chicken chunks, broccoli in a sauce with some kind of crumb topping. It is really good too.

Chicken fajitas can be really nice. Go to the supermarket and buy some chicken breasts, peppers, onions and the fajita mix (you can get it in a box with wraps, salsa and all. Fry the chicken and veg, put your spices (from the box) onto it and fry a bit longer. Warm up your tortillas (wraps) in the oven. Serve the food in the middle of the table in a big bowl so people can serve themselves. Also have guacamole, salsa, sour cream and grated chedder on the table (you don't have to make any of these - you'll find them in the fridge in the supermarket). Get some ice-cream to go with the cake. Present it all nicely with a choice of beer/wine and you'll be laughing... enjoy :-)

It depends on your neighbors, but I wouldn't serve them just cheese on toast. Try something like shepherds pie...it's easy and tastes delicious...serve with a salad and bread. Then to top it all off have ice cream with toppings for desert. Have a great day!

,Salad is a good idea, no cooking but present it nicely, why not put some jacket potatoes in the oven, decent size 1hr min in oven at 200d possibly 1 and quarter hr. You can grate some cheese in a bown to put on top (optional), Mix some tuna in a bowl as well as cheese(seperate bowl)so you have choice. Nice crust bread, you have a meal....

you could have them come round and prepare dinner together. say you think it would be nice to do it as a group.
or...
get some pre-cooked meals and toss them in the microwave, destroy the packaging and serve it on some lovely crockery. And take the credits.
or...
order some indian / chinese take away, toss them in pans to make it seem like you have been cooking. And wait for their arrival to serve it.

Why don't you try Spaghetti bolognese. It is very easy to prepare from scratch in 20-30 minutes, and it's OK to use a jar of cook in sauce. When I've prepared that meal my guests have even asked for the recipe.
