For this Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ... knowing that I can FINALLY Enjoy the PEACE and QUIET ... and yes, the COMFORT of the HOME That MY HARD WORK has earned for me ...

and I NO LONGER HAVE TO ENDURE any toxic behaviors, attitudes or problems in MY HOME or around me any more!

You can't believe how much STRESS Was LIFTED OFF MY SHOULDERS when they left -- because NO LONGER would I need to endure any forms of property damage or abuse or hormonal rages ... and the PEACE , the QUIET , the LUXURY of NOT having to be constantly working .. WOW!!!! SHEER BLISS .. and now ... I am sleeping more than 3 hours a night, I can SIT DOWN (and yes, READ the newspaper!), fix what I WANT to eat, and go place I WANT to go to ... and I LIVE .. that is the MOST Precious thing I have .....

I was about 15, on a school trip to the USA (I'm British). We visited NYC, Philadelphia and Washington DC in late October 2000; the weather was meant to be awful, but as arrived in NYC the sun broke out, and stayed shining for our whole trip! A magical holiday at the height of my youth, with all my friends and not a care in the world; sitting on the grass outside the Smithsonian with the sun blazing down, sharing a can of coke with the girl I'd had a crush on for years...

Thanks for the reminder my friend- what's yours?

As a child we had very little and one day someone gave me a small picture so i could give it to my mother for her birthday .

Mums long gone now but I'll treasure the memory of how happy i felt to be able to give her something when we had nothing .
