Used to, until i started thinking about it.
The thought of loved ones roasting forever would definitely compromise my happiness, despite St. Thomas Aquinas's insistence that, not only would we see them in hell, we would smugly enjoy the view. Compromised happiness is, by definition, compromised heaven.
Then there's the small matter of my central nervous system being in an advanced state of biological decay after death, which would severely compromise my *capacity* to feel happy...
Comforting became irrelevant when i realized that the whole matter is academic.

hello;i cannot belive the attitude you have about heaven, may i ask where did you get this unsavoray outlook?you sound like someone who is backslidden,is this the case?if so please don't speak bad about sometihg that you don't understand.it won't be anything like your discribing.God is going to create a new heaven and a new earth where there is rightouness.that just means that we will live like we do now only there won't be dealth and sin to corrupt lives like there is now, which was caused from the fall of adam an eve.an Jesus will be the light,an there will be no darkness at all there .The Word of God say's that no eye has seen nor hear has heard of the good things that God has prepeard for them that love him.my God it hasn't even entered into the heart of man how great it will be.Don't give up now it's almost over, let that which is lame be healed, and get rid of the root of bitterness that will only defile you and those around you.if you don't want to see your loved ones burn as you put it in hell,do something about it.if you know the truth then you are responsable to warn them from the wrath to come and be an exsample for them to follow.man if you fold what will happen to them, maybe you are God's chosen one,to bring his truth to them, how will you exsplain yourself to God conderning their soulsbecause you quit?I am not trying to make you feel bad,no contrary i hope your finding the strenghth to get up and move on....think about it for awhile.

Considering that no one knows what heaven will be like....I'm sure you aren't privy to that information either.
We were created to be eternal beings living in unison with God. We will become what we were intended to be. Since sin is what caused the great divide...I'm sure that when we become what we were meant for that it will be wonderful....beyond that really but there are no words to describe heaven.
As much as we love and pray for those here...they each have the choice that can be made by them alone. They can refuse the grace of God and no one can take that away from them. If they choose hell...that is their right.

No worries. I'm not going there anyway. I am coming back so I get a chance to be one of those elegantly slim, charming, intelligent women who have it all.
But I see your point. The Christian concept of heaven and hell includes some pretty contradictory material. That's why I appreciated Robin Williams' movie "What Dreams May Come" so much. It provides a far more plausible (although genuinely imaginative) concept of heaven and hell. And it's out on DVD.
