It's been over 2,000 years since he said he would "come back soon", among other predictions he made that never happend. Thoughts, comments?

If Jesus was god, why would he contradict himself? "I'm coming back soon guys...no, whoops, only da fadda knows! hey, I'm the father!" because he was a fake?

I love Christians..."It hasn't been 2,000 years!" That's not the point...if he said "I'm coming back soon" and it took 10 years, that's not soon. As usual, Christians miss the point.

To comment on how 'evil' society is becoming; it was already like this in 100 CE, and grew even worse after Rome fell. It's just you see more of it as we now have "instant" communication.

1,000 years is as one day to God? Then why talk to people that way? Jesus certainly had no problems saying how to live in Matthew 5-6 (if the Christian Bible is even true). "Hey, I'm coming back soon (I really mean in 3 God-Days! Hmm, maybe I should clarify that's 3,000 YEARS to these largely illiterate men)!"

We take 5 til 10 BC as his birth year, and His beginning of service is at the age of 30, so he claimed to come back again at minima of 20 AD. And it hasn't been 2020 AD. SO it hasn't been 2000 years.

Jesus is the 2nd personal in the Trinity. And yes, in the unity in His Father, Jesus knows everything including the date of His 2nd coming.
But it is not His Authority as the Son to prior his Father's will...

Yes it is true that sexual immorality had been existed long ago. But it is localized in the centers of civilizations, it was not a common.

The 1st coming of the Lord Jesus had been foreseen since the human's fall (Gen 3:15), and then it was revealed to Abraham, Moses.
Now we take the revelation for Moses Deuteronomy 18:18, then Moses time was 2000 years dated from Jesus 1st coming. The most revent of Jesus revelation is Zac 12, which is dated 200-100 years from Jesus 1st coming
So 2000 years is not a long time for God..
Now, it will be soon enough, just wait!

I think it was something like "one like the son of man".
So looking for clear works of divine wisdom are a good start. http://one-heaven.org is an excellent example.
But the real question is why do so many christians who say they are looking for signs of the second coming or rapture refuse to believe anything that isn't sanctioned by their organizations?
Secondly, why do these organizations maintain the stance that god has not spoken for over 2000 years?
It shifts the expectations and claims not on Jesus or any of the original apostles to suarely on the shoulders of people such as Pope Benedict. What is the game they are playing? What is their answer?

No one knows that day not even the angels in heaven. That's what the bible says. As for what i think' Look around you. We are becoming more like Sodom& Gamora every day. Look at the biggest part of the 360 pages. All you see is people doing all kinds of sexual imorality. That is what brought the city of Sodom down. We can't be far behind.

Many people have asked this same question and rarely think about what they are saying, it is only by the mercy of God that His second coming is held back for so long so that there can be more and more souls saved and the body of Christ can grow in number.
