The answer to this is a most definite yes my friend. The trick with prayer is to believe in it. Give your problems to God and then have faith that he will attend to them for you. It is easy to say but not so easy to do. You will have to struggle with all your mental ability to stop trying to solve the problem/s yourself because if you do, God will not help you. I have proved this many times and still have to fight hard to leave the problem I have with God. I know it seems strange but the bible teaches that you must already believe that your problem is fixed before God will help you. Try it my friend. Just pick one problem, give it completely to God and have complete trust that he will fix it for you and I guarantee that he will. Best Wishes - Grandpa

Some say prayer is talking/asking the Creator, Higher Power, Great Googely Moogely or what you like, Meditation is the answer. I think Prayer is a habit, that when practiced gives one a sense of connectedness , of not being alone, of 'something else' having some sense of caring/interest in our lives. After time ('fake it till you make it;) that prayer time becomesa calm in the storm of the day, a refuge, a place to pose one's thoughts, fears, longings, dreams, cares, & concerns......a place where some of that part of all of us that isn't usually shared with others (for whatever reason) to become unbound and be expressed.
I believe that I have seen reports of 'scientific studies' that patients in hospitals who either 1) prayed or 2) were prayed for either recovered quicker or more completlely .
I often think that prayer is really for US more than what we pray to.... it reminds us that there is a larger controlling force in the world and it is not us.

If it makes you feel better or you think it may help then absolutely keep it up but um if you are actually thinking it is going to miraculously change your life may as well give up now. Sorry I wasted a few years praying and ya know I am still not a millionaire nor do I have lovely young men mixing my vodka tonics. Maybe it's all in what you pray for

I thoroughly believe in the power of prayer. Keep praying each night and I am sure it will work for you. God works in mysterious ways.

I remember an episode of father ted where theyve got some problem or other - And decides the only course action they can think of is to leave a note pad by their bed - " and hopefully when we wake up - god would've written down what we should do"
The notepad was still blank when they woke up - it WAS a long shot though...

It is a combined effort. Tell me what you pray for, and, I'll add it to my prayers too.

Yes, it does. It is working because you are staying connected though.
