how did Lead get into the limestone?

I am looking at family history.ancestors mined lead in the Yorkshire Dales, As Limestone is a sedimentary rock I do not understand how it got there. Help or links please.

I think the limestone was glacially deposited after the lead was already present. It appears that the lead ores are found embedded in glacial clays.
