technically, I suppose it's 35-40ish.
I think the life expectancy is around 78 or so.

age used to be determined by how old a person looked and acted. These days with the wonders of science, technology, medicine, etc. in face lifts, tummy tucks, botox, diet and exercise products and all, they say age 60 is the new 40 (because of the looks). I suspect that middle age being 50 or 60 in the 1950's probably means someone in middle age is probably now 65, even though AARP considers seniors age 50 and above still. People have to work longer now so it's just nice to make them feel younger.

I think that your list is about right. I don't think I can improve on that except to say that some people will say that late adulthood starts a little later than your list states but this will depend on how many old people feel and what health issues they have. Some people in their 60s are appear to be quite old whilst others don't even appear to be middle aged. Because people, generally, live at least ten years longer than their parents did (some much more) the word 'old' has become very relative.

It's a moving target. As life expectancy goes up, middle age (the middle of one's life) pushes further out.
Currently, the average life expectancy in North America is 80. Let's divide a life into 3 parts, a beginning, middle and end. 80 divided by 3 is roughly 27. So, "middle age" for us in North America is age 27 - 54. Exact middle is, of course, 40.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, life expectancy is 40 years old. Therefore, "middle age" there is 20 years old.

Other than a medical opinion, I would say like mid 40's into your 50's is middle age.

Between 30 and 60.
Life expectency is about 90 years, 0-30 years = young, 30-60 years = middle aged, 60-90 = old, 90+ = lucky.

It's usually considered about 40-50 because the average life expectancy in developed countries where this term is used is about 84, although this average age is increasing.
