no clever answer
cameras lie all the time. with and without photoshop (and the darkroom manipulations that photoshop is based on). we don't see the same way cameras do. add in lenses, depth of field, filters, etc and it's even more of a lie
[that's why photography is/can be art]
and sometimes photoshop is used to tell the truth MORE--to fix bad exposure, or color balance, etc.
you should have photoshopped your spider--maybe in real life he is purple, but his picture is pink. lol

It's a cover up- we'll never know- I'm more concerned as to what you call those that use Flash.
