The Eurovision 2007 was great, it was only the songs which were terrible, apart from Sweden and Russia.
I couldn't tell each country how to get better songs, but in the UK the people got involved when others had decided which songs where candidates to represent us. And I don't think the best song won.
I would like to see a reality programe, How to solve a problem
like the UK's Eurovision entry. Where 60 or so songs are whittled down to one over a period of weeks, the public seem to be able to select well in these reality votes.
We still wouldn't win due to the voting system, but we could hold our heads up high, and we wouldn't get people saying our entry was crap.
Another way to give UK a better chance, is to get the troops out of Iraq, I'm sure that would improve our entry in the eyes of many countries.

I actually thought there were many nice songs this year. But the voting is clearly controversial and a lot of people are annoyed with neighbour-voting and East-Europe taking over the top spots.

I wonder if it would be possible to not announce from which countries the songs are until afterwards so that it would be about the music and the performances rather than some political voting. I guess it would be hard to keep it a secret though where each entry is from though, so it might not be possible, but it's one thing that I think would make the competition more fair and more about music.

Another possibility would be to have two semifinals, one for East-Europe and one for West-Europe and then have equally many songs from each in the finals. Maybe that would keep more balance.

I think Britain, Germany, Spain and France should not have a guaranteed spot in the finals. I think the same rules should apply for everyone and that they should participate in the semifinals like everybody else.

Anyway, I enjoyed this year's show and I think that most of the songs that ranked high deserved it. Many of them were good, so it was not just politics that got them there.

Still have the Eurovision ..

But instead just having the numbers people can vote for and not the name of the country. That way people WILL vote for the best song instead of voting for their neighbours.

Also, all the poor western countrys won't vote for each other and the eastern countries such as France, Germany, Spain, Ireland and UK have more chance of winning.

I used to love the Eurovision but since all this political voting started, it's totally ruined the contest.

People used to tune in to see the most amazing song that won, but nowdays people tune in to watch the pathetic western countries cheat their way into winning the contest. Eastern countries have no chance of winning. I say France, UK, Germany and Spain, (The big 4 who put the most money into the competition) should pull out. That way the western European countries won't be able to afford to run the compitition which means, NO MORE EUROVISION !!!

id have 2 different ones

one for the west

and the other for the east, where they all give their neighbours 12 points(Just like a little family)

but thats just my point of view

plus ithink there should only be 1 panel of 12 judges

and not meant to offend any body else

The winning song was terrible (serbia) and the fact that the woman looked like a man made it even worse. To make the show better I would scrap it and watch X factor instead.

I'd like to go to Helsinki and steal the set and the computers that drive it for my front room. On the whole, 3hrs 5mins of suffering to see Lordi and Apocalyptica was worth it.

I think this year was really good!! I can't believe that England got so few points!! Of course the song was crap!! I am surprised because we have very good groups and singers in the UK!! I hope they realise we need something with more style!!

Get rid of Terry Wogan's snide comments throughout the songs. It was him who ruined it.

Anyway, hasn't he got enough money to retire on now?
