No, but I thought I was when I was about 5 or 6 for some reason. There is nothing wrong with being adopted as a matter of fact it's a blessing.

I personally wasn*t, although in 1985 I gave a daughter up for adoption. We went thru the other family*s attorney...they were a distant cousin to my mother so we actually kept her in the family. Due to the adoption and on the advice of their attorney they elected to refrain from attending any family reunions that they thought I might attend. She is now fixing to turn 22 and as of 21/2 yrs. ago she hadn*t yet been told she was adopted. I have NEVER laid eyes on her.(After her birth I wasn*t even allowed to walk up to the nursery at the hospital to see her). She has both a sister and brother who are anxious to meet her and include her in their life. Believe me, from the parental side, placing a child up for adoption isn*t an easy decision, and especially from the birth mother. I have never not thought about her, wondered how she was doing, what she was like, and If I made the right decision not for myself, but for her and I feel that I did. God Bless those who are willing to adopt and give these children a loving home.

My biological dad left when I was 7, my mom remarried a wonderful man who adopted me when I was 12. He is the only father I have ever known. It definitely takes a man to adopt a 12 yr old and raise em like their own.

No, I wasn't but I adopted 2 of my grandsons and my 2nd husband adopted my daughter from my 1st marriage. :o) Congratulations on being adopted. I think that was a blessing! I hope you see it that way, too. :o)

yup, at birth. i found my birthmother a few years ago, she is pretty cool. i have brothers, that was weird.
i had a pretty good experience with it and harbor no ill feelings toward her or my family, some of us do. i hope you arent one of those. it makes me feel so bad that some people have sad stories about their adoption
not to mention being adopted has its advangages, we all have that cousin that is a total embarassment to everyone. you know who i am talking about, maybe its your brother or aunt, but for me its this cousin. he starts his crap and all i say is "dont look at me im adopted, you share a gene pool with that!"

No... but one of my best friends was adopted, and so was his sister, but from a different mother.... both of them have met their birth mothers, and his birth-mother recently met his parents that raised him... i think it's pretty neat.
