Quite simply, No! and in order to prove this you need to experience complete darkness as I have done. This was achieved when working in a coal mine and switching off the light on my helmet. The effect is so unbelievably oppressive that you can feel the darkness pressing on your whole body and making it totally impossible to judge directions.

Total darkness, like that you get underground in a cave is impossible to find your way in.You have no idea which way you are facing, whether you are walking straight etc! However, if you're above ground, even in a complete powers shortage, you'll have some light, from the moon and stars.

Most times.
Other than that night I took nyquil to try to sleep. But like always when I take nyquil I snapped away from about 3 hours of sleep and had to go to the bathroom. When I got I misjudged where I was, walked into the wall, tried to adjust and then walked into the wall again. That caused a picture frame to fall, hit me on the head. It scared me, and then I started to cry.
My boyfriend, the smart man knows that nyquil makes my tripper than anything else, got up, picked me off the floor - made sure i went pee and then carried me back. (I think he was just protected the furniture)

Yes, I am talking from experience. About two years ago, I was in a bus which broke down ; I and a few others had to make our way out through approximately three miles of bush ; a very tough and rugged terrain at night.
