It depends on what subject it is, for example on the subject of government it is "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security
."--Benjamin Franklin, and on technology my favorite quote is "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"--Arthur C. Clarke. My favorite quote on history is "History is decided by the victors."--Chapterhouse:Dune by Frank Herbert, and favorite quote on life is "I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where
I intended to be."--Douglas Adams

In every subject I like these:

I'll tell you mine....

"Yes, I have Babylon. But each land, each boundary I cross lets drip away another illusion. I sense, death will be the last. Yet still I push harder and harder to reach this... home"

I like this one for one reason, because people who think like that make history and also make an impact in the world. Each goal they achieve wether its peace on earth, a breakthrough in science, or any other. They won't stop conquering, exploring, inventing,getting stronger. Even if they do some fantastical breakthrough in what the world used to think about time and space (Einstein), they wil continue trying to figure out all the mechanics and aspects in their field even to the point of "Read the mind of God". Sadly, of course, they die with a pen/spear , trying to do the impossible, only death stops them. Ex: Einstein...died sick with a pen on his rite hand trying to figure out something that even today and maybe never will be understood. Alexander died trying to make the world one, only one empire, he said he wouldn't stop walking even if he reached the end of the world. Goku, too from DBZ, that guy would not stop getting stronger and stronger, all his friends retired as warriors, he was a grandpa yet he kept training and never got distracted by things(love,pleasure,money) that are not connected to his field (fighting).

Those three characters, after they died, they left an impact on the rest of the world.

"The Dreamers exhaust us and they must die before they kill us with their blasted dreams"

I beleive this is true too, maybe we are not supposed to know all about physics, b/c that would allow us to destroy ourselves. Maybe we are not supposed to be only one empire. Maybe someone uber-powerful with a pure heart of good is not good b/c that would create another entity with evil and more powerful. Is it good that death killed them all three? I don't know, but I want to think like these three guys....

~~~ " Heaven will never be Heaven if my cats weren't there to greet me." Ernest Hemingway And another I always liked was......... " A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." I don't remember who said that first, but it's pretty accurate. ~~~
