Depends on the burn. If first or second degree, go to the hospital. Normal non-alerting burn, apply some toothpaste on it, believe me it works.

I didn't see your question until 12 hours after it was posted. Naturally we are all now concerned for your friend. Is she ok? For the future....try tea bags: Burns– To sooth the burning sensation apply wet tea bag directly to the burn or secure with gauze. Many people keep Aloe plants. After a vicious burn, especially in the kitchen, break off a piece of it and the gooey insides should be rubbed against the burn for relief. Also, did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns?

For me, a simple burn, I just turn on the cold water and keep it running over it. Then, I take some ice or a bag of peas, wrap them up in paper towels and place over the burn.
Anything worse than a first degree burn on the skin surface, well, it's time to go to the hospital.

First aid is to put toothpaste on it, its cooling effect makes the burnt part soothes. Alternative medicine is aloe vera (but these should only apply for 1st degree burns) if it is worst just go to your nearest hospital to get immediate relief.. =)

ways to soothe the burn, well you could put some savalon on, that will take the sting away, and you will need to put some cold water on it, for a while about 2 weeks put a bandage on your hand if its really bad if isnt just do what i said at first.

Aloe vera works. Or vaseline helps. Soaking it in milk can help too. Good luck!
