I completely agree with Alex K. Try this very simple breathing exercise: Lie down or sit comfortably, back straight. Close your eyes. Inhale 2 counts, hold 4 counts, exhale 4 counts and hold 4 counts. This is one cycle. The count can be as long or short as you like but try and keep it the same count length for each cycle. Repeat as many times as you feel like. After about 5 cycles you will feel very calm and relaxed. Keep doing this many times a day. After about 5 days of regular practice Im sure you will feel in control, and certainly less anxious. Also try and do atleast 15min vigourous physical exercise daily such as spot jogging or the like. Best wishes.

Real kava kava, not the processed kind from health food stores, can help. Before that, I would try meditation and breathing exercises that have been suggested. Exercise releases endorphins that take away anxiety.

Do not use salvia, it is a hallucinogenic and isn't going to make you feel better.

Try St. John's Wart. If you look it up on yahoo or any other search engine you'll find lots of information on it. It is an herb and it is natural and available of course over the counter. I've heard it is very good.

I use ST John's Wort. It's natural and can be found in the drugstore aisle or healthfood store. It comes in diff mgs. But take it with food or you'll get an upset stomach. Also it's not strong so it doesn't affect your mood dramatically. But I find taking one before the dentist or public speaking helps. But is not dramatic nor makes me jittery. And follow directions of course. Good luck!
