I'm 14 and have done about a year of ballet. When can I start on demi pointe, most likely?
I currently take two classes a week and will be adding another in the summer.

based on your regular classes, probably 2 1/2 to 3 years. by then, your ankles should probably be strong enough. but always consult your dance teacher first before trying it.

It talkes a long time to get en pointe. I ook ballet for 11 years and only got on pointe on the7th year. Your ballet teacher will put you on pointe if she sees you're ready though. They're just preparing you coz its not as easy as it looks. It requires a lot of control and strength.

You can pointe at ANY age! It depends on ur strength, and your dance school. Ive been doing ballet for 3 years and i still cant pointe and im 13! So im thinking about switching and i expect to b on pointe in a few weeks.

It's best to wait at least 2 years, so your ankles are strong enough to cope with the heay strain of pointe.

It depends on what your teacher thinks. If she thinks you are almost ready for pointe, then she may put you in pre-pointe soon. Or, she may skip you right to pointe. We can't really tell because we can't evaluate your strength over the internet.

i know that it is hard to wait, but because you proably have full grown bones in your feet, you will probabaly have to wait another 2 years to get pointe shoes. If you start when you are very young, ironiclly you have to wait longer because you have to wait until your feet are strong enough and are nearly finished growing.

you have to talk to your teacher. you may never be ready. its grueling and does a lot of damage to your feet. mine are pretty much shot.
