I was surprised to see that not all my loans etc were recorded on it. I also saw that in January, (when I was moving money about, but didn't actually spend any) that my main bank queried my credit report, even though I hadn't applied for any credit, and everything was current and up to date, and all accounts had credit balances.
My question is: do my bank have the right to query my report even if I'm not applying for anything?

That information is available to anybody who wants it, they don't need to justify it.

It might have been a sales team at you bank deciding whether or not to contact you to try to get you to take a new loan or credit card?

Your credit rating does not belong to you :-)

It belongs to Experian (and the others) who generate the ratings and they can sell access to who-ever they like ... visit ther web site and see ...

You have the right to see what they say about you - but even you have to pay :-)

Yes they do it is to try to stop financial crime. Nothing to worry about if it is all above board.
