I just woke up a half hour ago after dreaming that a certain co-worker was hit by a truck.

I hope and pray it was just a bad dream.

Not often, but at times I've had a dream about somebody, and that person soon was part of some event in reality.

Many of our dreams are about people we see often in our lives.

Only one that I can remember, it was as a child and I dreamed a new guy came to our school and a few days later the same guy in my dream came to the school. I am assuming that I must have seen him at the store or something because it was the exact same guy, I was very young in grade school.

Yes, they have. It does not happen often. I will share one with you which really shocked me!

I was sixteen years old. My Dad was dying from kidney failure and was in the hospital. Well, so was I! I fell ill with pneumonia the week before he passed away and had to be hospitalized.

I had been in the hospital for four days and had very little communication with the other family members. They were all taking turns at the hospital with my Mom. He was in the Veterans Hospital and, back then, they only had one phone which could be wheeled around and plugged into one of the multiple phone connectors in the walls, of the wards. Therefore, the men could use these phones at random times. As a result, it was very difficult to call through to the ward where my Dad was. All week, I waited to hear something from my Mom, about my Dad...nothing!

On Thursday night, I fell asleep crying because I was so worried about Daddy as I had been the one who took care of him when at home. So, of course, I really needed to hear something, from someone and this is why I felt so sad. I just needed to know how he was getting along.

When you are in the hospital, you tend to listen for and at the sounds in the halls. At least, I do! It sounded as though I heard the nurses walking towards my room and then I heard what sounded like a gurney hit my door! The door opened and someone was pushing a casket into my room! I awoke screaming and crying as it all had seemed so real!

The next morning, when the doctor came by, I demanded to be released. He agreed I could go home but, I had to stay on the mediactions they were giving me intraveniously. I agreed! I called a neighbor and asked her to come get me from the hospital and she did so. On the way home, I learned that my Dad had fallen into coma the day after I had been hospitalized. He had not spoken since the day I went into the hospital four cities away. I was stunned by the news and then, I understood why I had not had visitors or, a call from my Mom...they did not want to tell me!

The following Monday, my Daddy died. On Tuesday morning, we went to make arrangements for the funeral. My Mom and older brother took care of the arrangements and then, the funeral director took us across the hall. He announced that we were about to go inside to look at caskets to decide on one for him. My blood ran cold as I did not want to have a part in this decision. Then, my Mom asked me if I would go in with my brother and help to make the decision. I wanted to run and tell her NOOOO! I couldn't, she was a broken woman and her eyes were filled with tears. I agreed to do so, for her sake!

Now, I had not thought about the dream I had had the previous Thursday night. I was so filled with grief that the dream had faded as though it never occured. However, when I walked around the corner of the second row of caskets, there sat the same, identical casket that I saw being rolled into my room, in that dream! It was a moment that I have never forgotten! I was 16 then and now, I am 52!

Yes, my Dad was laid to rest in that casket. My brother thought I liked that one as I just stood there in amazement looking! The funeral director, who was a personal friend of my Dad's, informed us that he could make us a really great deal on that casket because the company had discontinued them! My Mom came to see the choice and she loved it and thought that Daddy would have been pleased too.

All this history just to answer you as factual as I could!
