Mother Board - Connects all the different pieces and allows them to talk to eachother.

Processor/CPU - The 'Brain'. Does all the thinking and processing.

RAM - The 'memory' that the Brain uses when it's doing its thinking.

Hard Drive - The permanent storage device on which your operating system and all your files are stored on.

Video card - A card that processes graphical type stuff so your CPU doesn't have to.

Sound card - A card for processing & managing audio/sound.

Monitor - The screen you're staring at.

Speakers - Sound projectors which are connected to your computer's sound card.

Keyboard/Mouse - input devices.

Mother board contains traffic paths for data
CPU processes the data
Memory stores the data while being sent from each location
Bios stores data about start up and hardware configuration
Hard disk drive stores data until the drive dies
Fan circulates air in the case
Power supply controls power input and output
Video card - controls video
Modem controls communication via phone line
Nic card controls networking traffic
CD rom reads cd media
Floppy disk reads 3.5 Disk
Monitor outputs data on screen
Key Board inputs data from user
Mouse inputs data from user
