Do you and he have an amicable relationship still? Or did it end badly? If you're still close and you still love him, why not talk to him and see how he feels. Perhaps he'd like to get back with you as much as you'd like to get back with him.

Well cut him off if you haven't already, because he's likely enabling your feelings, using them to prop himself up emotionally, aka toying with your emotions.
If you have cut him off, then it sounds like you're ready to date again, so get out there, find someone who deserves all that love you've got to give, it's obviously a lot, and long lasting, so you deserve someone and can make someone very happy.

Try your nest to go out and find yourself a guy to go out with. Date more and you will hopefuly find a new boyfriend to help you get over the ex.

you're not over him because you're still single. you are still associating him with a partner, and so no one else seems to fit.
if you want to get over it, you need to date some other guys, even if you don't think they're "they one", just to experience different personalities in that same position of potential intimacy.
