2.If you have genuine Windows, keep it updated.
3.Don't download suspicious files, or visit bad web sites.
4.Scan your computer for viruses once every 5-6 days.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

Hello. My ID is Ms. Dell and it is my pleasure assisting you today.
What you need to know is that I have been using McAfee for 6 consecutive years and have never once caught a virus in those peaceful years. That's correct, NEVER!
With McAfee 2007 you get Virus protection, personal firewall, spyware protection, spam killer, site advisor, wireless protection and many more in one. That's right, you get up to 10 different protections in 1. This means you don't have to download separate Internet security software to protect yourself; everything comes in 1.
McAfee 2007 does not slow down your computer. My notebook is windows Vista, 2GB of RAM and 2.33 Ghz CPU. I suspect no slownesses when scanning my computer while simultaneously using MSN messenger, Yahoo messenger, watching a Movie and browsing the Internet. I know my facts because I'm the one using McAfee. Also, I recommend McAfee to many of people who have a poorer computer spec than my PC and they enjoy a peace in mind Internet activity. Plus, McAfee is NOT FREE, which means it is worth selling. That's right, you get values for your money.
I suggest you to purchase McAfee 2007 and you won't have to download additional Internet security software to stay protected . In plain explanation, McAfee is all you need.
Should you need McAfee to ultimately protect your computer overall, visit http://us.mcafee.com/root/package.asp?pkgid=272 to stay protected today.
This message was from Ms. Dell.
You have a great day.

I Think you should have given more information regarding your computer any how
1. Install an Anti-Virus software
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/AVG-Free-Edition.shtml
Do not use Norton (it's a resource hog and also costs more)
2.Have an Anti Spyware
http://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-10401314.html
3.Download Registry Claener

download avg anti virus free. it is an anti malware. if you dont believe me, read the avg antivirus free user manual. actually it detects exutable files and dll libraries which are PUP (potentiolly uwanted programs). these PUPs can be spyware,
adware, etc. it also scans the list of cookies and detects bad cookies. it also scans your registery.
