Right now I would recommend any Intel Core Duo CPU for a whole host of reasons. Even though I am an AMD fan boy gamer who runs an FX60 CPU, for the average folk an Intel Duo Core would be the way to go unless the price difference to an AMD dual core makes a better financial choice. But either way, dual core is the way to go today!

What do you want to do with the computer? Before you go after a CPU, you really need to decide on the capabilities of the Mother Board, then decide on the CPU.
