1 hour and 24 minutes on the road.
62/(1.4)=44.3 miles per hour (1.4 hours is the same as 1hour and 24 minutes, since 24/60=.4)

Pam spends 1 hour and 24 minutes on the road. 6:46 plus 14 minutes takes us to 7 o'clock. 8:00 is one hour later, and she gets there 10 minutes after that. 14 + 60 (1 hour) + 10 = 84 minutes, which is 1 hour and 24 minutes. We need to express this in terms of hours. So we need to know what percentage of an hour 24 minutes is. Since an hour has 60 minutes, 24 / 60 = .4 which is 40%
She took 1.4 hours to get to school and drove 62 miles. 62 / 1.4 = 44.2857 which rounded to the second decimal is 44.29 miles per hour.

23.84 miles per hour is ur answer. dont listen to the person up there. they are wrong. i am in algebra 2 so i know this stuff.

This is how u do it: first add convert ur time into minutes because u need to have everything in hours since ur looking for miles per hour. to convert 2 hours and 36 minutes, into minutes, simply add 60+60 (because 1 hour is 60 minutes and u have 2 hours) and ur answer will be 120. then add 120 to 36 (ur minutes that have been given) and ur sum will be 156. Next, divde 156 by 60 because 1 hour=60 minutes and we want everything to be in hours. 156/60 is 2.6 After doing all of that, simply divide 62 by 2.6 because there are 62 miles to go and u want to know how many hours it takes to do that.
62/2.6 should equal 23.84 when rounded.

(i dont want to confuse u but here is a ratio that u could do: 2.6/62=1/? when u write that down on paper exactly as it says, simply cross multiply 62 and 1, then divide it by 2.6) again, this stuff might confuse u but try it if ur old enough.)

i hope this helps. contact me if u need any other help on this problem or if i confused u.

First, convert the time to a decimal:
2 36/60 = 2 6/10 = 2.6

Then, divide miles by hours to get miles per hour:

62 / 2.6 = 23.84615 = 23.85

6:46 AM - 8:10 AM

14 minutes to 7:00 AM
60 minutes to 8:00 AM
10 minutes to 8:10 AM
------
1 hour, 24 minutes

=1.4 hours

62miles/1.4 hours = 44.29mph

Try converting the hours to minutes (i.e., 2 hours and 36 minutes is equal to 156 minutes).

Then, find the miles per minute.

Then, convert it to miles per hour.

because it is mi/hr, you have to divide the total number of miles by the total amount of time

62mi/2.6hr=23.85 mi/hr
