My rabbit used to love to be love. But all of all of a sudden, he don't want to be petted, and runs from me, and he stayed hidden.
He has free run of the house. If anyone knows why this is happening, please let me know

Some rabbits change when they approach puberty because their natural instincts kick in. My neighbor's rabbit had this and he tried to bite anyone that was trying to feed him etc. I think you should just let this blow over so he can get back to normal. But if you want it to stop here, take your bunny to the vet so he can be neutered. My rabbit never had this, but he has a certain "attraction" to things. I don't know why, but he never changed. Please post how old your rabbit is so we can answer with more specifics.

Best of Luck 2 you and your bunny!

As some of the others mentioned rabbits do go through a hormonal period at 4 months old, but usually that mainly affects the females and not usually the males.

Besides hormones, rabbit behavior can change due to several things. If the rabbit was ever hit by anyone that could change it's behavior.

If I was going to make a best assumption, I'd say the main reason that your rabbit doesn't want to be petted anymore is because he has free run of the house. When rabbits get used to running free and not being caged they often times act different. A rabbit that would never squeal when you would go to pick it up out of its cage will often squeal if it is allowed to run free for sometimes even a short while. A rabbit often reverts to kind of a wild nature when you let it run loose like that.

I imagine you probably had it caged up before and it was friendly and nice. Now it's been running free for a while and is not so friendly. I'd recommend keeping it penned up and only letting it out when you are around and only for a short time if that.

I am with wiccanblackcat13 and Sunshine- around 4mo of age the hormones kick in and the personality changes. I always have my rabbits spayed or neutered as soon as they can be. It helps A LOT with the personality. It also helps prevent them from pottying in places they shouldn't. For my vet, it was about $75 bucks to get each rabbit fixed. Not cheap, but worth it.

how old is this rabbit? He may have had his hormones just really kick in and he may be becoming territorial. He may also have a chemical imbalance of some kind, talk to your local 4-H rabbit leader and have him/ her check the contents of your food, he may not be getting an important nutrient and he may be getting depressed because of it.

A change in behaviour is always worth a vet visit to rule out a medical issue.
