Here's a long detailed one for ya.

I didn't quite understand this part of your question: "how would i make the costume fit my enough over my boobs?"

But I'm assuming and answering as if you were asking how to get the fabric to cover your boobs and stay there. Its your choice whether you want to use cups or stretchy material. Cups will conceal the nipples, and help you look "perky" if you're "girls" are flat or always "staring at the ground." lol. There's also a product out there called "sticky boobs" if you don't want to sew cups on.

But if you have the ever-so-envied firm & perky boobies, the stretchy alternative will look sexier and reveal alot more of your natural boob shape.

Either way, you definitely want to use two-sided tape, or maybe some spray adhesive so you don't fall out.

If you don't use some kind of sticky stuff to hold it in place, the fabric will absolutely roll, or fall down, on such a low-cut strapless dress, unless you sew something like a corsette into it.

Joanne Fabrics or other large chain fabric stores might have the pattern, or something similar to it. If you cant find a pattern, buy a cheapo dress from Goodwill or something, that has the same body-hugging fit even if it doesnt have the same neckline (excuse me, with that kind of dress, it should be called "cleavage-line" haha). Put it on and draw on it in the mirror or have someone else draw the neckline, while its on your body to get the best results. Or maybe put a strapless bra on overtop of the dress and trace it so you know its even.

Make sure to cut at least a quarter of an inch from the line you draw, so you can sew the hem. (To hem around a curve give it a little bit more than a quarter inch, then cut little V-shaped notches in the fabric before folding it over to sew it, so the fabric doesnt pucker. Make sure you dont cut past the hemline! You may want to practice this before doing it on the final dress)

After drawing the cleavage-line on your cheapo dress from the thrift store, go ahead and cut (don't forget the extra room for the hem.)

Then, for the rest of the dress, pull at the seams of the cheap dress to the point that you can see the thread that crisscrosses to hold the two pieces of fabric together. Use a razor blade, a sharp knife, or one side of a pair of scissors and just slice the threads, not the fabric. When you're done, the cheapo dress should be in two pieces - front and back (three pieces if it also has a seam running up the back.) Then use those pieces as your pattern. Pin them to the fabric desired for the finished dress, and trace the perimiter of the "pattern" with a fabric crayon/marker. When you're done, remove the patterns and cut away.

Do all of this on a large flat surface (a dining room table or a wood floor for instance, NOT on carpet or any other yielding surface, which will cause uneven cuts) and iron EVERYTHING so theres no wrinkles to cause bad cuts.

And REMEMBER to give yourself lots of room for errors. You can always cut more fabric away, but you can't add to it.

When you have the pieces cut out, pin them together where you think you should sew it, and DELICATELY try it on. If its perfect, gingerly take it off (so none of the pins pop off or poke you), and start sewing. Otherwise, make corrections and try it on again. Repeat this until its the perfect fit.

Then cut the famous Jessica Rabbit slit that runs up the thigh, and straight-hem it as well. If you plan on making it as high as Jessicas, you might want to use an adhesive so you don't expose your bum, or your genitalia.

An easier method for the top would be to glue a strapless push-up bra to the inside, and glue the hem down around the top of the bra. Super glue will probably work, and its cheap. But don't glue the fabric to the entire bra. Just run a bead of glue across the top of the INSIDE of the bra, and fold the fabric over while using the "notches" mentioned above. And maybe glue around the bottom of the cups of the bra too, depending on the fabric you use.

This all sounds alot harder than it actually is. If you have lots of time to get the dress done, then try a practice run on some cheaper fabric before you make the final dress.

Your entire question seemed to be asking how to make it, but the last question is "should i make one instead?" So I'm going to assume that its a typo, and that you meant "should I BUY one instead?"

If you find making it to be too much of hassle or if you have a short deadline (less than a week) to make one, then definitely buy instead. It will most likely end up costing the same as making one. Theres all kinds of costume websites to shop around on.

If you have any questions, don't choose a best answer, just ask by using the "add more details" button. I'll review the question tomorrow or monday, and answer any questions you have.

Good luck. I hope it turns out great for you whichever method you choose.

Go to a fabric store and get a pattern for a strapless gown. Look in the prom or maybe even the wedding pattern section. The back of your chosen pattern will tell you what fabric to use to construct the gown. While in the fabric store, look for the long gloves you'll need , in their wedding section. Make sure the fabric can be dyed ( I don't think you will be able to find purple ones) For the red wig, do a web search.

if you how to make darts, you can just make the whole thing a little big and do the darts (the ones that you do for bodices and blouses)

but if you dont know how to do that, you can just make the sides curved around your chest area, make sure to get the measurements right, and sew it that way.

both the two ways wont require stretchy fabric and i think would look nicer than stretchy fabric, but it's all your choice :D

Magical Lawyer dress. Something fancy and steeply-priced like a skirt go well with, like whatever a legal professional could put on for courtroom (in view that Libra is meant to be a signal of equity and justice), nevertheless it'd be magical and glittery and particularly lovely, perhaps ice-cream coloured or whatever, like mint inexperienced and lemon and faded blue. And instead than a handbag, there'd be a paintbrush accent, and while you factor the paintbrush at whatever unattractive or unfair or mistaken, like any person arguing or a death flower, it immediately alterations it into whatever first-class (in view that Libra is supposed to be idealistic and experience cosmetic.) Use a stretchy tube top for the top part of the costume and attach the rest of the dress to it.
