Well, "good" is in the ears of the listener....
But here are my current favorites, in no particular order:

Mas que Nada- Sergio Mendes and the Black Eyed Peas (althought the original is not bad, either)
Cha Cha- Chelo
Another Rainy Day or Put Your Records On - Corrine Bailey Rae
Walking My Baby Back Home- Nat King Cole (In fact, anything Nat King Cole is really good)
From Yesterday- 30 seconds to Mars
most stuff from The Fray
most stuff from India.Arie
Life is Beautiful- Vega4
Still Love- Holly Brook
various songs from Natalie Walker
I absolutely love "Hey There Delilah"- Plain White T's
Stolen- Dashboard Confessional
Where'd You Go- Fort Minor
Only Cab on the Road (I think that's the name of it, anyway)- Train
various songs from The Goo Goo Dolls
Headlock- Imogen Heap
some of Switchfoot's earlier stuff
various stuff from Michael Buble (i really like A Foggy Day)
Just a Ride- Jem
various stuff from KT Tunstall
Extraordinary Machine- Fiona Apple

I hope that gives you some variety.

But, if it doesn't help- when I'm looking for new music, I like to spend some time browsing Itunes- click on something that looks good, preview it- then click on what listeners also bought... You can find some of the coolest stuff you'd never find elsewhere. Try looking up Rock, R&B, Standards, Techno, etc. You never know what you'll find.

SAD or ROCK? Okay.. I'm now not definite on that. If via unhappy you imply.... gradual and form of emo... Evanescence has plenty of those, as good as rock, corresponding to: Hello Like You My Immortal Your Star Missing All That I'm Living For Sweet Sacrifice Weight of the World Going Under The Veronicas: All I Have Heavily Broken In Another Life Someone Wake Me Up My Chemical Romance has plenty of well rock songs, and so does Switchfoot.

Green Day, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and The Used are all good rock bands, if you want something a little more mellow, then go with nickleback, amzing lead singer and guitar player... if you get a chance to see them, go! they are amazing in concert!

I am a country semi-fan. LOVE some...HATE some. But, a non-country artist I love to love PATTI GRIFFIN. Infused with that same beautiful accoustic guitar and awesome voice...but most of all...great writing...you would love her. (toured with Dixie Chicks once, wrote song or two for them and the new Wreckers".
