I didn't know what a June bug was to begin with lol - i don't think we have them in England.
I looked it up on a search engine, to be honest i would say that although it's nice to give your gecko something new/a treat, it's probably best to stick to things you can buy from pet stores as they have been bred - not much chance of them being contaminated by insecticides/parasites etc. Books do say that you can feed your lizards with insects that you catch by 'sweeping' (dragging a net through long grass), but i think that whether these bugs are safe really depends on where you catch them.
The best thing to do would probably be sticking to what it says they can eat in books etc, because giving them things that aren't mentioned may cause adverse effects.

Anything that you feed your gecko that is not from a pet store or raised by you runs the risk of giving it something that is not good for it like diseases and pesticides. Keep in mind, if you don't know where the bug has been than you don't know what is inside. Enjoy your gecko.

no the bugs might have parasites or diseases that can be spread to your gecko, the gecko can choke on the bug and the exo skeleton may be hard to digest
