No excuses for him and what he forgot when you were together, but your son may have a little to do with it. Depending on your child's age and contact with your ex. If your child is asked what they are going to give their mothers for mothers day (by teachers, friends ext...) Your child may be asking your ex. for help to buy you something. If this is not the case. Than I would say he found out that, the grass was not as green on the other side, as he thought. He is feeling guilty and trying to make amends. Or at least in his mind he is. Too little, too late. Be the bigger person here, the gift is suppose to be from your son. Look at it and treat it that way. Don't give your ex any type of credit for it. If he did it to help your son get something for you. Than fine, don't make more out of it than it is. Or you will be playing right into his hands. Good Luck

Maybe the divorce opened his eyes to how thoughtless he had been. He may be trying to get you back. Or it may be his way of saying I am sorry for the things I didn't do and should have. Anyways, Happy Mothers Day!!

GUILT pure and simple---but don't knock it.... this guilt feeling is instilling a good example for your son----I hope he continues this practice of getting gifts for and from your son for years to come---and hey worse things have happened then two former lovers getting together again---if it were to happen a second time, at least he now has learned exactly what you will do if he tries to screw around on you again....maybe he has learned a lesson---but give him LOTS of time to prove himself IF you decide to give it another shot.

It's probably his way of saying "Sorry I was such a Schmuck"
Maybe saying" Sorry for the way I treated you"..
But it's over, be grateful he's at least making an effort to try to make things pleasant for the kids sake..
Say "thanks" and keep moving forward, past him...
