i think he's definitely capable of being a number one...over the past couple years in houston he's proven that he's still got the stuff of a number one and will prove to be a key addition for the yankees

No, because a number one starter should be a good teammate first. Good teammates don't sit out two months of the season deciding which contract offer to accept - and then make sure there's a clause that says they don't have to travel with the team unless they're pitching.

Baseball is a team sport. A pitcher can have all the skills in the world, but unless he's got eight guys on the field behind him, he's nothing. Roger needs to remember that.

No. He's only good for 5 innings a start, you need a work horse to be your #1 starter.

Not a number 1 on any team but the yankees, any contending team that is. He's there cuz half their rotation is hurt and they atre willing to pay him more than hes worth.

not on a normal team... but with that Yankee's rotation he might be #1 for a few weeks, I mean I would take Marquis over Clemens.....

Time will tell. What is for sure is that he is the #1 big mouth, self-adoring, selfish, drama king of all major sports right now. His retirement is something "devoutly to be wished."

Chow!!
