I am currently writing a movie-script in Microsoft Word (2007 version in-Office Home & Student) and have come up with an original title that I made up from scratch. (It's a long single word that is obviously not in any dictionary) Can anyone tell me how to use the symbols in "Word" so that I can put a pronunciation key in parentheses under my title to explain how to pronounce it? (Also, where would the list of necessary symbols needed to do this be located? Do I type out the pronunciation and ADD the symbols to it??)
Any detailed info would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to the top menu bar, click "Insert", then "symbols". You'll get a window with different fonts and all the symbols the fort supports.

To know which symbol to use for a particular sound, use a dictionary. Somewhere inside each is a key to the symbols the dictionary uses for pronunciation. You could also just type the word phonetically, which may be easier if you have to look up a lot of symbols. For instance I have a relative with the last name Montaño. I could show you the pronunciation by typing (mawn-TAHN-yo) where the caps indicate which syllables to stress.

There is no way, the only way to get a word perfect document to a Microsoft Word is to save the first one as an Enriched text document and then when you go to open it on the Microsoft Office, it will convert quickly and easily.

The symbols can be found in the character map. Go to Start > All programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map.

If you're feeling pretty technical then you can try writing it in IPA:

The problem with this is that you might have to install a special font for it. It might be easier to just write phonetically as mentioned.
