He is currently 40 years old, and needs 65 more wins for 400. So, if he needs ten wins for 6.5 and when he finishes he will be the around same age as Clemens is now (clemens is still pitching today).

So, will it happen?

The fact that Clemens is still pitching is an anomoly, not a normalcy... Maddux will not pitch for 7 more seasons, even if he wins 15 per season thats still 4 more seasons of playing, and at his age and his declining skill 15 wins per season is nearly impossible, not with the Dodgers especially! So no way do I give Maddux 4 more 15-win seasons...He maybe has anotehr year in him, no more...

to u, ebadevil- first of all, the dodgers r a great team ,top 2 or three in the NL, and second of all, greg maddux isnt on the dodgers any more, he's a padre, and no, he wil not win 400 games, but i would like to see him do it. i think that he could do it, but my gut feeling tells me that he will retire within the next two years

No Way!!! Besides Glavine,R.Johnson and possibly Mussina
or Pedro I believe you not see even a 300 win pitcher in a very long time.

I don't think Maddux will stick around long enough. I would put the over under on his retirement at two years.

i began out thinking approximately this some years in the past. i think of its reasonable based at this variety of pitcher he's. he's not a ability guy meaning he ought to probally pass some extra years. he's referred to as a much better, precise surpassed version of jamie moyer, and if he pitches as long as moyer then i could say its a executed deal. a topic, in spite of the undeniable fact that, is that he's a 6 inning pitcher at present, meaning he's going to ought to placed self belief in his bullpen to get to 4 hundred wins. if clemens had had any bullpen in any respect in houston then he could be nearer to 4 hundred wins than 350.

No.
He is in a serious state of decay, career-wise. It would take him too long, unless he wants to be the only guy in the Majors on Medicare.

No. He doesn't have a lot left in the tank as it is. I would be surprised to see him pitch beyond this season.
