why is it that in artwork like statues and paintings, the ancient greeks have such perfect physiques, the men have six packs and muscular shoulders and backs, and the women perfect curves?

There were no fast foot restaurants, no automobiles, no video games, no television. People ate much healthier, and exercised regularly, most men were in an army at some point, fitness was essential to survival. It is very obvious why those body images were used in art, they want to portray and preserve the most grandest of images.

I suppose those are the times when men worked hard and women did their share. I am a Greek female and in my youth by needlework teacher told me I had the perfect hourglass figure, that is 34-20-34, that is inches. Of course, that is nothing to go by as to being Greek but I did a lot of housework to help my mother. Kept me fit. I am now 56 and I still have a fairly good figure although not so slim anymore.

Now they say I look like a god-damn Greek.
