THANK YOU so much because I argue with my friends about what constitutes classic rock.....when the classic rock station starts playing U2 they are sadly mistaken..........

Good Blog!! But under - For those still lost on where to turn for Classic Rock, strongly consider any or all of the following albums. Yes. Albums. Not select songs from them:
You don't list one of the greatest albums of all time, Rush - All The World A Stage, or another great album Rainbow - Best Of Rainbow, and I can go on and on, but you get it.
Keep up the good work!!
Long live classic rock!!!

I totally agree with your blog. I often find it disturbing when the "classic rock" radio station in my town starts playing things like Bon Jovi. It drives me nuts, in fact. I will say, though, that I've never heard anyone put Nirvana in the category of classic rock, but that's the only band you listed as people proclaiming to be classic rock that I actually listen to at all. You gave a great list of classic rock albums. . .very nice and helpful to all the young 'uns out there.

I listen to classic rock and rock after 1980. What bothers me is the radio stations that keep playing the same songs over and over again because they are their version of classic rock. Granted there are plenty of albums that didn't top the charts with good music on them to fill the gaps but instead they keep playing the same crap over and over again. So if I listen to the radio I have to have six stations preset with the idea that three of them are going to be stuck in the rut. Tonight for example the smallest of the six played the best music.

Well, of course there is such a thing as art, beauty and creativity. I think this is the main difference between just 'pop' music that sells in the day and really classic music that stands the test of time. All of this is open to question, of course.
