Brings to mind the tiny, four-second part in The Truman Show where Jim Carrey's mid-school years are depicted as him claiming "to want to be an explorer," and the stereotypical (albeit alarmingly true) 'teacher', in no-time flat yanks down
a world map for the class to see, saying, "Too late! Everything's already been discovered."

The dumbest ones abound, this we'll never escape.

My favorite of the great ones: "Knowledge is limited. Imagination is boundless." ~ Albert Einstein

The quote is definitely wrong. Their are thousands of new inventions every year.

One quote I never liked is, "Great minds think alike." That just couldn't be further from the truth. Any group of minds that think alike have got to be simple.

Another quote I don't like is, "want you cake and eat it too." I understand what it means. The the literal content is just too silly for my part. What good is a cake without eating it?

I can't imagine why some people say the things they do, as long as the world turns and people are born new things are going need to be invented.

Here's one that always got me.

it quite is an quite stupid argument, sure. men shouldn't attempt to take credit for what different men have invented. those nicely-time-honored male inventors have been very unique / wonderful men. They easily do no longer characterize the nicely-known men. maximum men have not invented something, and are probable no longer even fascinated in inventing something. If a guy tries to take credit for what different men have invented, then that comparable guy could additionally take credit for the undesirable issues that some men have achieved with the aid of out history. comparable ingredient.

Yeah, the Head of IBM said that in the 50's.

I hate the quote, "What does not kill you makes you stronger." Everyone has that as their Senior yearbook quote in high school.

I am also not a fan of, "Wherever you are, there you are" and "if you're not here you're there." Supposedly existentialist, but totally stupid.

"Time takes time" also sucks.

People are stupid.

Charles Duell, president of the patent office was rumored to have said that in 1899, but I read that is a myth. Even though I'm an atheist, one good one is "God helps those who help themselves".
