Is it against the law to break the window of a vending machine if it fails to give me what I pay for?? I just want to take what is rightfully mine out of the machine. I work gravyard shift and I don't want to go through hoops and barrels to get my fifty cent refund. What the law on this?? Can I get fired from my job if I do this at work?

Fired, for sure. Each machine, if not owned by your employer, is required to have a business name and number posted on the machine. Calling them, and no longer using the machine, is about all you can do safely. To break the machine would do much more monetary damage then you could possibly have inserted. This will end up a vandalism charge.

You lose 50 cents and somehow you feel justified to cause over $100 worth of damage to a vending machine!?

Yes it is illegal plus you'll endanger your job - over 50 cents.

It's absolutely illegal. Try calling the company and complaining daily if it's a common problem. The number should be on the machine.

There is such a thing as ethics. Just because something doesn't work - does not give you the right to break the law. Relax - so you lost 50Cents. Calm Down, and make a claim in the morning.

Arrested, then fired. Just stop using the machine. Bring your food from home.
