Ferrets are related to Weasels and love to play in water. Let the pet have a bath about once every 3 weeks and use Ferret shampoo/conditioner. Not good for them to bathe too often. Ferrets like cats, watch and search after anything that moves. All the behaviors described are normal.

Yes ferrets can swim,, no lessons needed.
As for the fish, he probably would have no problem making a snack of any of them but is probably more curious then anything - same for the tub inless he does not have fresh water then he might smell that in the tub.
Ferrets are notoriously curious creatures , they can & do get into a lot of trouble / situations that sometimes just is not explainable or predictable. Just try to keep him away from these things if possable & keep a good eye on him.

Some ferrets have a fascination with water, while others cannot stand it. Letting them play in shallow bowls of water is fine, and the fish probably just looks like a toy. Just becareful when ferrets are around deeper pools of water since they can easily drown. My two youngest ferrets love playing in the tub, as long as there is no water in it. LOL

Let them play in the tub about once a month- any more often and their glands will release the oils that cause the smell and they will smell even stronger- Get the ferret shampoo and conditioner and have fun!

Ferrets are VERY curious about water, however, I find that once they find out exactly what it is -- they HATE it! lol Any ferret that I have every owned detests baths. Even the most docile of my ferrets has scratched me to bits while bathing them. While they don't like to be washed they do like to dunk their heads and splash with their feet. You can even leave out dishes of water just for this purpose.
Ferrets have webbed feet...sort of. I suppose somewhere down the line of evolution they waded in streams or something. Like I have pointed out...none of my ferrets have ever shown an interest in wading. lol

Haha, my ferret Ghost is super-curious about water. In their play room (a.k.a. my bedroom) I have a (clean) cat litter box with a few inches of water in it. Ghost will climb in and "dig" in the water. One of my other ferts, Calypso, hates it and will only lean over and drink. However, BOTH of them hate taking baths. =) Ferrets are strange creatures.
It's totally normal for him to be curious about water.
They should change the expression to "Curious as a ferret." =)
