Hardest calls are at boundaries; a non-rectangular parallelogram would have a greater boundary:area ratio. Also, if there's a really acute angle, that would make judgment very difficult, and create "dead" areas too narrow for play.

Alrightie....I play volleyball at a high school level, so I'll answer these to the best of my abilities. 1. you can roll an ankle when coming down from a block of a spike or landing on a ballduring drills. shoulder injuries from spiking incorrectly. 2. you can start pretty young but older is okay too because there's competetive leagues and house-leagues. 3. It's great because as mention before there's different levels and you continue playing it through elementary, high shcool, and even college/university 4. This sport is definaly not brutal. There is no body contact, and although the game can get pretty competetive and the girls can get a little well girl attitude-like it's really nice because it's laid-back but at the same time extremely exciting. 5. I'm not sure, but it's not too much. You just need knee pads and rentals don't cost that much. So, I would expect probably a maximum of $200 per season for a good competetive team.

Rectangles are parallelograms. Webster's defines a parallelogram as "a quadrilateral with opposite sides parallel and equal". Quadrilaterals are four sides areas. The rectangular soccer field and tennis court have equal length opposite sides ... hence ... they're parallelograms as well!

Because a rectangle maximizes the area.
If you create a non-rectangular parallelogram and a rectangle with the same perimeter, the rectangle will have a larger area.

Its easier to judge distances when right angles are used. If you had a parallelogram, when you were at the end on one side the other corner wouldn't be equal with you. Also in soccer it would make it harder to judge off-side as there wouldn't be a line of sight (the line marking of the field) to judge where the other player stood in relation to the goal square.

You have to b face 2 face with the goal or the other player in order to get ur ball straight! A rectangle would allow you to to that best.
