the sentence is right. "all i did was 'calling' her the wrong name" is incorrect.
it's simple, as you're just referring to a verb. the "...her the wrong name" is irrelevant.
"all i did was calling" vs "all i did was call." which one seems correct to you? just replace it with another verb to see it more clearly.
All I did was dance. vs All I did was dancing.
All I did was smoke. vs All I did was smoking.
If you want to use "calling", then say : My only mistake was calling her the wrong name.
In the first case, you're using a verb to refer to another verb, "did.....call".
In the second case, you're referring to the entire act of calling her the wrong name as a noun, i..e, mistake. Mistake is a noun where as "did" is a verb.

Grammar aside, the more humble response might be, "I mistakenly called her an incorrect name. My bad...I wasn't concentrating properly and I apologize." Might keep you out of the doghouse and out of the blue beam of the grammar police. But of the two choices you offered, the two sentences are equally grammatically correct, though a little awkward. Just using the phrase "all I did" sets one up for a fight!

it sounds right if yur addressing it to someone but id say
"i called her the wrong name"
and if you wanna add the "all i did" part say..
"i called her the wrong name, that's all i did"
- and if you actually did call her the wrong name, your in trouble!!

it's "all I did was call her the wrong name"
because it has sentence parallelism.
"did" and "call" are parallel.
however, "did" and "calling" is not.
