They sit at this spot every day of every summer - all day and all night long. They include homeless and other 'travelers' - it's the center of downtown - they are mostly college aged kids who have no reason not to get a job.
just a second ago...
(one girl is holding a cup from a makeshift fishing rod)
passerby: what are you fishing for?
girl: what do you think i'd fish for in the city?
passerby: a job?
girl: ...stammering... well, why don't you give me one!
i've had enough, i'm about ready to move. please help!
my cop friends say I can press charges for disturbing the peace, but then i'd have to appear in court. I have 3 jobs, a life, and no time for this!

Friend if you have 3 jobs...you don't have a life.
But I have a solution for you.
Firecrackers tossed out an upstairs window...Make sure it's a very large pack, 1000 cnt or better. From 3 stories, the first bang will occur about the time it hits the ground...you can watch the rats scatter :)
This could take several times. Just be sure to only purchase what you need for each time you do it. No need in having evidence in your apartment.

You need to keep slamming the city for allowing this in your local papers and other press available. Call and voice your opinion to local representatives, and make sure to mention that you have done this in any article you may submit. Making a public "scene" of this type of thing draws much unwanted attention and then they will address the problem. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Are they on the sidewalk or your apartment property? If it's the apartment complex they can be arrested for trespassing (at the discretion of the property owner or their agent, i.e. the landlord.) But if they're out on the sidewalk it's public property, but they can be cited for noise ordinance violation (depends on local law) or disturbing the peace. You may have better luck calling and complaining to your police department they're talking too loudly, or their music is too loud.

The only solutions available to you are time consuming. You can have them charged with disturbing the peace. You can sue them in civil court for Nuissance. Neither will do much good. They'll just come back. I suggest you talk to your landlord about it and look for another place to live.

If panhandling is illegal in your city, you should be calling the police. They are also loitering, so the police will probably move them along.
If they are there all the time, tell the dispatcher that it is an ongoing problem, and that the hippies keep returning to the same spot.

lmao. sounds like a predicament. i would say, shoot em all and let god sort em out, but another option would be to do something to where ever they congregate. i dunno, you could go and put police tape all around but i guess it wouldnt be too good if it wer in the centre of town. you should boobytrap it, but thn again.. if theyre always there.... actually, im watching a garden program, you see... there's weeds in the garden. in your case the weeds are those filthy cheeked orphans. so what you do is hit em with the pesticide, but in ur case you need to find drop-out beat nik pesticide. because ITS WAR. dont move away or they win. soo... wat do they hate? make a list!! and do that list around them.
maybe... jobs, i dont know what to do there :S
write an angry letter
move in with them till they annoyed so much they go
or you could politely ask them to leave?? nahh
threaten them?
getthe copsmaybe u can antagonise them so much that they threaten you. or u could block it off completely. OORR
u could drive a hummer right through the middle.
mm mmmm..
well i hoped i have sparked some inspiration in you!!

If you want to get rid of them, you should ask the person who owns the property they're on to do so. If it is "public" property, there is nothing you can do that wouldn't be violating their rights since everybody has a right to use "public" property however they see fit.

How about reporting this to your landlord.I think it would be his or her responsibility since he owns the building. If that doesn't work get a petition and have as many tenants sigh it and send it in with your complaint.Good luck to you
