Usually it has a section for people who aren't from the US. I think you put your Visa number on it. I could be wrong.

The gap has online applications (which also goes for oldnavy, banana republic since GAP INC owns them) that you can google to check for yourself what they ask.

If you work in the U.S., you're supposed to pay taxes. So whether you're on a VISA or a natural citizen the government needs a way to keep track of how much you make and how much to take.

This only tends to be a problem when it comes to illegal people trying to sneak in and live in the U.S. There are 'under the table' type jobs out there, but when you work those, the conditions tend to be poor, with long hours, no benefits, and of course you still run the risk of being caught. The companies do this because if people are dumb enough to put themselves in that situation, then they can get over on their workers because there's nobody to report them to. If the immigrants report their crooked bosses, they risk getting deported. So I'd suggest coming to the country legally and then taking advantage of the jobs as well as th benefits and protection that your taxes would pay for.
