My car was stolen. After recovery and back on road, I received 6 tickets for various violations on dates that I was in possession of my car! I believe the theives copied my registration and attached it to another stolen car. Tickets have wrong color, vin and # of doorsand another plate, not mine. I also rec'd a similar ticket when car was in impound. (That is only one dismissed) I fought, lost pd $600. and now am appealing. I am totally innocent, not sure how to prove it!!!!!!!!! help.

Go see an attorney immediately. You have some HUGE problems here. You also need to check your credit immediately, and also alert your financial institution(s)! This is not uncommon. Go see an attorney so that you can protect yourself and your assets.

Man I really feel for you. My father was helping an old disabled lady into her dr's office in manhattan, and he got a ticket in 30 secs in a "no standing" zone. However dropping off people is not standing, it is stopping. He lost the case even with a letter from the dr stating the woman was disabled and needed help and he brought the woman to the court!

I would appeal. You have obvious proof. Bring as much documentation as possible. The ones you need are the police report showing your car was stolen, pictures of your car that show it is indeed a different car than the one that was ticketed. If your appeal fails, I would contact a lawyer, but unfortunately, your rights in NYC parking are very slim. Good luck, but unfortunately there is not very much that can help you here.

Take it to court and explain it to the judge, be sure to
bring in the ticket that was dismissed as proof that this
has happened to you before and bring a picture of your
car to show color and number of doors along with your
current registration.

You might be able to get out of all of the tickets.

Sad to say, but you need to get an attorney to straighten this out. It sounds like it's only going to continue if you do nothing.
