look up what state and region you live in, that should narrow it down.

well, the library has several good books for that purpose. Or you could take it (if it's potted) or a clipping (if it's in the ground and/or huge) to a local nursery. if you're unsure, wear gloves as several plants cause rashes.

take a piece of it to a local nursery...or a really good picture and someone there should know..

Take a photo of it, upload it to photobucket.com, post the link to yahoo answers so we can all see what it is and maybe we can tell you! :) Yeah....or take it to your local nursery. :)
