for example, buying as many as you can get at a cheap sale price in a standard store, then going to like your side street small business and selling for normal price there?

Apparently some people have told me its against a federal law of some sort. I tired searching for a database of laws to search but its growing old, I'm not having any luck.

Is there someone who knows and preferably back it with a link to a site stating the particular law?

Now remember its buying mass amount under a sale from one place and then reselling it probably for top dollar or the standard price at a small store.

Thank you to anyone who can come up with any results. Any with resources provided is best.

There is no law against that.

However, there are trademark laws, and selling particular brand names without the manufacturer's permission can be illegal.

It's hard to see where there could be enough profit in an enterprise like that to keep it going, though. I'd think you'd want to get your wares at wholesale prices.

I'm sorry, I don't have a link or anyhting to back it up, but I know I'm right. If you buy something, you own it, you can do whatever you want with it. You can smash it, burn it, or resell it. The only thing you can't do is copy it and sell the copies (ie, CD's and DVD's) But you can resell anything you buy, even in mass quantities.

yes it is. You need to look for it under taxation laws. It is actually illegal to play sales tax twice for one item. When the item is purchased the first time, only certain sales taxes apply and it must be purchased from a registered distributor.

You can only sell one item at the end user level once. However the rules are different if it is a personal auction.

Some stores do that like Zumez but for a person to do that? I don't think so.
