Dogs only see blue and yellow because they have many less of the cones (color vision cells) than people. On the other hand, they have many more rods (low light and motion detecting cells) so they see much better in the dark and they can detect much smaller motions than humans.

Dogs are said to have dichromatic vision -- they can see only part of the range of colors in the visual spectrum of light wavelengths. Humans have trichomatic vision, meaning that they can see the whole spectrum. Dogs probably lack the ability to see the range of colors from green to red. This means that they see in shades of yellow and blue primarily, if the theory is correct. Since it is impossible to ask them, it is not possible to say that they see these colors in the same hues that a human would. Whether or not the ability to see some color is important to dogs or not is hard to say.

Most dogs don't see in color but there are a few that do see in color. That is why when a lot of dogs see people of color they bark because it is something different that they may not be use to.Not because they are racist or don't like black people.

Dogs do see in color but they don't see as many or as distinguished colors as the human eye.
Its the same thing as horses. People sya they cannot see in color yet in jumping competitions they use brightly colored flowers to try to spook your horse.

Hope that helps!

Well i have heard they see black and white but my dog, Bruno always seems to go to the color blue and my other puppy that passed away a couple of years ago (*tear*) would always go for the colors green and yellow. lol i remember her playing in the snow and yelling - "NO CHLOE THATS PEE!" haha. My Poppy thinks those ppl who announced they're black and white are full of crap cuz they have no idea and i kinda believe em'!

They do see in color but they cannot see as many colors as humans do. For instance, they could not distinguish a green ball in green grass by sight alone.

No dogs see in black, white, Shades of gray, some basic colors like blue and yellow etc.

Most animals are color blind.

That also explains why birds usually poop on black cars then any other color. Reason why is because they easily see black, thats why.
