Well try opening a savings account and don't give her the account number. Talk to her and tell her how much she owes you and how you feel when she takes your hard earned money. I am in a kind of similar situation. I have a single mom and she doens'y always have money for things like rent, bills, dinner andsuch. I have lent her $500 (maybe more) over the years and I have never asked for it back. We both know that she owes me, but she has done so much that I know I'll get it some day. Your situation sounds a bit different which is why I suggested the bank account. Good luck with all of this. Also to FROGBFOUND- my mother has had to borrow money from me and my sister to support me, my sister and my two little brothers. It DOES NOT MAKE HER ANY LESS OF A MOTHER. She does what she has to to provide for us. Not everyone has tons of money coming in and the assitance that we get is not really all that helpful! She makes less than $20,000 a month and we really can't afford for her to not ask for money that was just SITTING in the bank doing nothing. She is one of the best mothers out there and you CANNOT tell me that because she supports us by any means that she is less of a mother.

while I will say it is not right that she takes your checks I can see her point to an extent. You are old enough to understand that it takes money to feed you and put a roof over your head. So I can understand her taking part of your check to help with the houshold bills and some to put into a savings account for you ... however you should have some of what you earn to enjoy after all you did work to earn it. Have you tried talking to her about it? If she is unwilling to bend.. you quit the job.. after all you are not getting any thing out of it as it is now.

Tell her she owes it to herself and her own actions that you're alive. You had nothing to do with it.

It would be helfpful to know how your family life is outside of her taking your paychecks... If its not a good situation you might want to talk to a school counselor who can give you the tools you need to deal with your mom on a regular basis.

screw that sheet just stash the check and place it in your checking accout or just stash the check to the point that you have enough money to open a checking account depending on how much the check is cause opening balance has to be about a hundred bucks at most banks

You don't owe her for anything.
To put it bluntly, she shoulda kept her legs closed.
All i can tell you to do, is quit.
Tell her, the reason you quit was because, you don't owe her anything, and until she realizes that, and stops taking your money, your not working.

jeez. i would bring it up to her and say that you worked really hard for the money. and anyways you shouldn't owe anyone money fo being alive especially her because it was her choice.

try and negotionate. Aske her if you can have a certain amount out of every check to save up for something ( lie if you have to). If she doesn't want to then I would suggest you quit working until you are of age to get a better handle on your money. then again, you can just start cashing your checks before she see's them and give her an amount of money from it, keep some for yourself. good luck
