This is the best example. Instead of taking weeks to exchange letters, it takes seconds. The quality of letter writing has decreased as the quantity has increased. Prose, reflection and pleasure in letter writing seem to me to have mostly disappeared. We're producing untold millions of lines of tripe and it ain't that much fun.

Letter writing? To whom? People e-mail and chat. Modern tech has taken the "social" out of being social. Wanna write to Mom? Go for it. She would love to hear from you.
